According to data from the Cancer Charities, the number of men diagnosed with penile cancer have increased. The new figures show an increase by 20 percent the number of men diagnosed with penile cancer in the last 30 years.
Experts believe the main reason of increase in the number of men diagnosed with penile cancer due to changes in sexual behavior. According to researchers, it is associated with greater exposure to sexually transmitted infections such as HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) and a decrease in the number of children who were circumcised.
What is Penile Cancer ?
a malignant growth found on the skin or in the tissues of the penis. Around 95% of penile cancers are squamous cell carcinomas. Other types of penile cancer such as Merkel cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma, melanoma and other are generally rare.
